The Milky Way Cycle Route – a high mountain cycling experience

The Milky Way is one of Norway's most famous cycling routes. The route is 230 km long and leads from Lemonsjø or Vinstra through Valdres and Jotunheimen to Gol. You cycle on quiet gravel roads through high mountain and mountain pasture landscapes, with experiences along the way being a natural part of the journey.

This is not a route to “get through”. It is an experience where the pace, stops, and overall journey are part of the trip.

The route can be cycled in its entirety or divided into smaller stages. You can read more and plan your trip at mjolkevegen.no

An experience built on collaboration

Along the Milky Way, several stakeholders cooperate to create a holistic experience – from accommodation and local food to transport and activities.

Bike & Hike Jotunheimen – partner company of Mjølkevegen

Bike & Hike Jotunheimen is a partner company in Mjølkevegen and part of this experience network. We are also a partner of Jotunheimen Travel, which offers complete cycling tour packages including bike hire and luggage transport along the route.

Our role is to contribute where the bicycle is an important part of the experience, so that guests get a good start and the right flow to their part of the tour.

From our base at Lemonsjøen, we help guests get started with the right bike, tailored to both the terrain and the stages.
